Product Description
Kenneth Williams and Hugh Paddick are the notorious resting thespians in this hilarious collection of sketches from Round the Horne. Through four series of Round the Horne Julian and Sandy graced each episode with an encounter with "that nice Mr Horne". Each week they'd be up to new tricks, from domestic help ("we've come to 'do' for you") and filmmaking (Bona Prods) to travel agency ("something exciting in a cheap package") and wrestling (Bona Grapplers). They introduced the audience at home to the beguiling language of polari, and they were at at forefront of British camp humour. Their sparkling repartee is as funny today as it was in the swinging 1960s, and this collection includes over 60 glorious sketches. Bona to vada their ekes again! Duration: 3 hours 40 mins

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Hugh William Paddick (22 August 1915, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire - 9 November 2000, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.) was an English actor, whose most notable role was in the 1960s BBC radio show Round the Horne in sketches such as Charles and Fiona (as Charles) and Julian and Sandy (as Julian). Both he and Kenneth Williams are largely responsible for introducing the underground language polari to the British public. He preferred theatre to any other form of acting and spent most of his life on the stage, from his first role while at acting school in 1937 until his retirement. He appeared in the original Drury Lane production of My Fair Lady. He was also an accomplished musician - singer, pianist and organist. He can be heard at the piano accompanying Julian and Sandy in a number of their sketches on both Round the Horne and The Bona World of Julian and Sandy.
