The Pulitzer Prize is a U.S. award for achievements in newspaper and online journalism, literature, and musical composition. It was established in 1917 by provisions in the will of American (Hungarian-born) publisher Joseph Pulitzer, and is administered by Columbia University in New York City. Prizes are awarded yearly in twenty-one categories. In twenty of the categories, each winner receives a certificate and a US$10,000 cash award. Henry O'Neill ,August 10, 1891 May 18, 1961,, American film actor known for playing gray-haired fathers, lawyers, and similarly dignified roles during the 1930s and 1940s, vintage 8 x 10 glossy photograph credited to notable Hollywood photographer Elmer Fryer. Fryer is known for his detailed and complex eye for posing his subjects. He had a wonderful sense of modernist style and fashion. He made use of the art deco period's elegant shading and shadowing in black and white photography. Verso bears original Fryer/Warner Brothers credit stampings. In very good condition.
