The plot of SECOND TIME LUCKY is that the Devil (Helpmann) makes a wager with God (Morley) to see if his first couple, Adam (Wilson) and Eve (Franklin), would sin again if they were put in the same position in the Garden of Eden. The film follows Adam and Eve as they are reincarnated in different historical periods, such as ancient Rome, France during World War I, Chicago during the Roaring 20 s and finally as glam rock stars in the late 1970s, all to see if they would prove obedient this time around. Originally slated to direct the film was John Derek, who had in mind his wife Bo Derek to play the Eve role, but ultimately veteran Hollywood director Michael Anderson found himself Down Under in the director s chair. Ginnane s TREASURE OF THE YANKEE ZEPHYR was filmed in New Zealand, where the country s tax advantages then allowed for significant financial savings to productions that were filmed there, so it was arranged to have the film shot as a New Zealand production.
The Australian composing team of Garry McDonald and Lawrence Laurie Stone were hired by producer Antony I. Ginanne to compose the film s score. The two both began their careers as successful performers and songwriters in classical, jazz, rock, and electronic music in the late 1970s. McDonald went on to study classical composition in Queensland (Australia) and Los Angeles, where he studied with Lalo Schifrin, Henry Mancini, and Nelson Riddle; meanwhile Stone gained a reputation as an outstanding sound engineer for popular records. The two joined forces in 1980. SECOND TIME LUCKY was their fourth assignment and first feature film. Taking advantage of the resources of a 55-piece orchestra and 20-voice choir, the composers created a full-blooded symphonic score full of enough raging gusto and romantic pathos to enrich each of the film s time-changing segments with energy and earnestness. The score features a marvelous love theme that follows the couple throughout the eras and serves as the connective tissue of their star-crossed romance in all its trials, trysts, and tribulations.
Previously released on compact disc by 1M1 Records in the early 1990s, Dragon s Domain Records is excited to bring SECOND TIME LUCKY back to the marketplace again, newly remastered by Digital Outland, with exclusive liner notes written by author Randall Larson.
SECOND TIME LUCKY is a limited edition release of 1000 units.

I hope you enjoy il panorama dalla mia cucina Italiana -- "the view from my Italian kitchen,"-- where I indulge my passion for Italian food and cooking. From here, I share some thoughts and ideas on food, as well as recipes and restaurant reviews, notes on travel, and a few garnishes from a lifetime in the entertainment industry. More than a hundred thousand people all over the world have viewed the blog and that's great. But every great leader needs followers and if I am ever to achieve my goal of becoming the next great leader of the Italian culinary world :-) I need followers. I'm not an “Italian in America” because my ancestors left Emilia-Romagna a long time ago. And I don't have a dog in the hunt when it comes to an “Italian- American Heritage” because said Emiliani ancestors originally landed in Canada. But I'm still an “American of Italian descent,” I still have an Italian birthright, and October is a great time to celebrate it. Undoubtedly, the Italian with the greatest impact on America was the man commonly (if incorrectly) credited with... Although he sailed under a Spanish flag, Columbus was born in the Republic of Genoa in present-day Italy. In Italian, the name translates to Christoforo Colombo, which, in turn, anglicizes to Christopher Columbus. Be that as it may, Columbus was still the guy who made the most of the whole thing. Regardless of whether or not he was the “discoverer,” he was the man in the right place at the right time with the right political connections and the right publicity machine. So he's the one who gets his own holiday in October and who has streets, cities, counties, provinces, and even a country (Colombia) named after him. Many Italian-Americans observe Columbus Day as a celebration of their heritage. The Italian population of New York City organized the first such celebration on October 12, 1866. A few years later, in 1892, President Benjamin Harrison issued a proclamation recognizing the 400th anniversary of the “discovery” of America. Colorado became the first state to officially observe Columbus Day in 1905. And in 1937, President Franklin Roosevelt declared October 12 to be a federal holiday, designated as Columbus Day. (The Uniform Monday Holiday Act, signed into law by President Richard Nixon in 1968, moved the date to its current second Monday in October. ) The day is often designated in many communities as Italian-American Day or Italian-American Heritage Day. Another Italian, this one from Florence, had a big impact on. Source: The View from My Italian Kitchen
