Not long ago, The Daily Mail published a series of photos showing several Game of Thrones cast members hard at work at Linen Mill Studios near Banbridge, Northern Ireland. Those cast members included Liam Cunningham (Davos), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), and Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne). So Maester Wolkan survived the Battle of the Bastards, then. Maesters theoretically operate independently of the families they serve, so it’s believable that Jon wouldn’t execute him after taking back Winterfell.
