What if a 10-minute journaling routine gave you superpowers?

The Journal Writing Superpower Secret won't let you shoot webs from your wrists or leap tall buildings, but here is how it can help you right now:

• Gain "instant clarity" and "hyper focus"
• Identify and stop self-sabotage
• Shut out distractions, self-doubt, and naysayers

This can help you accomplish things like:

• Lose weight with an actual, honest-to-goodness healthy mindset (i.e. without driving yourself bonkers)
• Write every day
Take over the world Accomplish your own huge, ambitious goals

Here is the "secret" this book will show you:

As any journaling book will tell you, your journal is your own and it can be whatever you want it to be. This usually means something like "Write what you want! There are no rules!" Well, that's 100% true. But think about it: this advice also means that you are still allowed to embrace frameworks and structures if they would help! In fact, you can choose to embrace them exactly as much or as little as you want, and you can use them in whatever manner you want.

In other words, you are allowed to dig into your journal with specific outcomes in mind. You sure don’t have to, but you are allowed to. Your journal writing does not have to be an end in itself, and you are allowed to use your journal as a tool.

Introducing... "Intentional" Journaling

Intentional Journaling lets you open your journal with some specific outcome in mind.

• You are not required to free write if you don't want to (...but you can if you do).

• You are not required to "just write what comes to mind" (...but you can if you do, and the book will help you decide when this might be beneficial).

• You are not required to write for a set amount of time each day (...because you decide when and how to integrate your own personal ritual with the rest of your life).

All these things have their advantages and their place. But you decide when and how to use them. You decide what prompts to use. You decide "how" to strategically leverage your journal to identify and build on your strengths, address your weaknesses, and become that awesome, superpowered version of yourself you want to be.

Included:

• Dozens of prompts, plus how to use them effectively.
• How to "stack" questions and prompts to create specific exercises.
• How to use journaling "mini sprints" to boost your powers.
• How to create a routine that works for you.

Product Description
Many people dream of escaping modern life, but most will never act on it. This is the remarkable true story of a man who lived alone in the woods of Maine for 27 years, making this dream a reality—not out of anger at the world, but simply because he preferred to live on his own.

New York Times bestseller

In 1986, a shy and intelligent twenty-year-old named Christopher Knight left his home in Massachusetts, drove to Maine, and disappeared into the forest. He would not have a conversation with another human being until nearly three decades later, when he was arrested for stealing food. Living in a tent even through brutal winters, he had survived by his wits and courage, developing ingenious ways to store edibles and water, and to avoid freezing to death. He broke into nearby cottages for food, clothing, reading material, and other provisions, taking only what he needed but terrifying a community never able to solve the mysterious burglaries. Based on extensive interviews with Knight himself, this is a vividly detailed account of his secluded life—why did he leave? what did he learn?—as well as the challenges he has faced since returning to the world. It is a gripping story of survival that asks fundamental questions about solitude, community, and what makes a good life, and a deeply moving portrait of a man who was determined to live his own way, and succeeded.

Earth Class Mail, once a highly touted Oregon startup, files bankruptcy ahead ... - OregonLive.com

Earth Class Mail, briefly among the best-known Oregon startups, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Friday. But the Beaverton company is still operating and is apparently preparing itself for sale. "There's someone that's going to be buying Earth Class Mail," said Amber Hensley, the company's customer service manager. She said she cannot disclose the buyer's identity, but indicated Earth Class Mail will continue operating under its new owner. Chapter 11 is a voluntary bankruptcy for companies that seek an orderly reorganization of their debts. Founded in 2004, Earth Class Mail correctly anticipated the rapid migration of correspondence from physical mail to electronic communication. The company saw an opportunity in helping manage that transition, offering to scan incoming mail for its clients and making the documents available electronically. The novel concept landed Earth Class Mail a high-profile review in The New York Times. TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington hailed the service as " a great idea " in 2005. Regulatory filings show the company raised at least $20 million in investment backing in its formative years, and another $3 million later. Formerly known as Document Command and Remote Control Mail, Earth Class Mail moved its headquarters to Seattle in 2006 but later returned to Beaverton. Digitizing mail turned out to be quite expensive, though, and most people switched to electronic communication on their own, without help. Two similar mail digitizers, Zumbox and Outbox, shut down in 2014. That's according to Adam Stein-Sapir of Pioneer Funding Group , who specializes in analyzing bankruptcy cases and first noted Earth Class Mail's bankruptcy. Attempting to revive itself, Earth Class Mail repositioned itself as a virtual mailroom for small and midsized businesses. The bankruptcy filing shows that's been a struggle, too. The filing lists $1. 2 million in assets and $13. 7 million in liabilities. -based venture capital firm and Earth Class Mail's chief financial backer. Earth Class Mail had a little more than $5 million in revenue in both 2013 and 2014, according to the bankruptcy filing. The company lists a $1. 5 million loss in 2013 and a $1. 8 million loss last year. The bankruptcy filing does not indicate how many people Earth Class Mail employs. Source: www.oregonlive.com

    McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. 2001. ISBN: 0773522565,9780773522565. 224 pages.

In Faces in the Forest Michael Blackstock, a forester and an artist, takes us into the sacred forest, revealing the mysteries of carvings, paintings, and writings done on living trees by First Nations people. Blackstock details this rare art form through oral histories related by the Elders, blending spiritual and academic perspectives on Native art, cultural geography, and traditional ecological knowledge. Faces in the Forest begins with a review of First Nations cosmology and the historical references to tree art. Blackstock then takes us on a metaphorical journey along the remnants of trading and trapping trails to tree art sites in the Gitxsan, Nisga'a, Tlingit, Carrier, and Dene traditional territories, before concluding with reflections on the function and meaning of tree art, its role within First Nations cosmology, and the need for greater respect for all of our natural resources. This fascinating study of a haunting and little-known cultural phenomenon helps us to see our forests with new eyes.
